About Us is a new website that aims to bring together academic research on spirituality, religion, philosophy and science in order to explore many of the key questions about life that confront every human being.

Immersed in a world of materialism, hedonism and consumerism, many people feel a sense of dissatisfaction and emptiness – a longing for a purpose in life. The arcane myths and rituals of ancient religions seem just as unlikely to satisfy that yearning as the various secular man-made philosophies. Other “new age” attempts to wed science with spirituality seem especially feeble and lacking academic rigour. The intellectual heritage of the Islamic tradition from centuries past remains largely concealed from the public eye, buried beneath a mass of misconceptions and contemporary stereotypes. Recently, there has been renewed academic interest in unveiling the fascinating insights and ideas of Islamic scholars throughout history, who outlined a comprehensive worldview rooted in the texts of the Qur’an and the Prophetic teachings.

The idea that there could be a synthesis between intellectuality and spirituality, or between faith and logic, may sound incredibly foreign to most people. And yet, this is the refreshing perspective that is offered by the Islamic tradition in its original sources, and elaborated upon by its most brilliant thinkers over the course of fourteen centuries. serves as an educational resource for cutting-edge research on such philosophical insights, bridging them with contemporary advances in science and academia to bring about a deeper understanding of the nature of man and the cosmos.

As the site continues to grow and develop, it will encompass a diverse array of topics. Muslims will find in this website a wealth of information about the classical Islamic sciences that demonstrates how to approach contemporary intellectual movements including secular humanism, scientism, feminism, materialism, and so on. Non-Muslims will find in this website a unique and refreshing perspective on humankind’s spiritual and moral journey towards God from the Islamic perspective.
